2/5/10: Forecast Update - SECOND FORECAST MAP for the 2/5-2/6 Storm

As the first flakes begin to fall here in Millersville, I have updated my forecast based on the latest information. This is my final forecast for this storm...

I believe there is a chance that the southern end of Calvert and St. Mary's counties could mix with sleet at times, but this is primarily a heavy snow for just about all areas, except the lower Eastern Shore where mixing will be a bigger issue and will cut down on totals.

  1. I think I would just rotate the banding more horizontally, I think the deformation will setup along a line almost following I-66

  2. My bands would be more horizontal, but I think there will be enough warming to the SE to mix them a bit and cut back totals some and the 24-30 area is there to highlight the areas just west of 95 that always do a little better. I also think when the coastal gets cranking you will see more of a NE/SW orientation to the bands.
